Thousands of people make saddles, I make saddles work! If you've been chasing the saddle-fitting Monkey and your're about broke, THEN YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!
WITH ORTHO-FLEX, I saddled most of the top ROPERS in this industry in the 1990's. My NEWER saddles are even better, but I don't send one out without a ProtecTOR ROPER Pad THAT REPLACED THE ORTHO-FLEX SYSTEM. When I put a patented system in the ORTHO-FLEX ROPING Saddle, it costs thousands TO FIX YOUR HORSE'S BACK PROBLEMS. I sat down and created the CorrecTOR Patented Saddling SYSTEM in a PAD so anyone can fix their horse's problems FOR 4 hundred+ and keep on Roping. The Newer Version is a $30 UPGRADE called the PROTECTOR>. I'm NOT HOLDING YOU UP by making you buy a NEW SADDLE to FIX YOUR PROBLEMS. With the PROTECTOR's PATENTED SYSTEM, you can keep the saddle you have, save 1,000's until you're ready to step-up to the best for you and your horse: My BLACK MESA TREE in a well thought-out ROPING SADDLE IS THE BEST.
CLAY COOPER TRIED IT LAST SPRING for 30 days AND COULD SEE A DIFFERENCE. HIS CACTUS SADDLE NOW HAS MY ROPER TREE IN IT. At this time, don't expect to buy one from CACTUS like it. They WON'T SPEND MORE for a TREE THAN THE LEATHER COST. NOT UNLESS YOU BUY THE LDR TREE FROM ME LIKE CLAY DID & THEN HAVE THEM BUILD ON IT. THEY HAVE TO LEAVE THE UNDER SIDE OF THE GROUND SEAT EXPOSED SO MY BLACK MESA LOGO VISIBLE.
I have 2 TM ROPER versions YOU can choose from. I Class my saddles by the BAR type I've made for them. Mine are exclusive, they are the Ugly Betty Bars found in the LOW DOWN Roper & the HOT BETTY or TRADITIONAL ROPERS. THE LATER 2 HAVE A DIFFERENT FORK & CANTLE. I hope you enjoy this site. I go into saddle fit with more experience and less B/S than you'll find elsewhere. I'll tell you some of what I've learned from DEE PICKETT working for me and other top Ropers I've worked with over the years. Welcome, Len Brown
This ProTecTOR, with outer felt layer not sewn & folded down, shows what's visible from the top opening as you place Balance Sims over the Patented Protective Shields. You can see some Shims at the top on the other side of the pad shown here. The Envelope Pads are the same on the outside as are the balance shims and the pocket they are used in. The white felt CorrecTOR is gone and the Protective Shields are placed into the ProtecTOR Pad sewn under the nylon netting you see above. Special collapsible column, open padding a 1/4" thick is under the shields. Just always striving for the best!
This is a roper built by Mark Hurley for Bill Casner in Forth Worth, TX. It is built on the Hot Betty tree with a slighly taller cantle and half inch higher fork and #4 Dally post horn. The gullet is 7 3/4". Bill just ordered his third tree for his 3rd saddle built my Mr. Hurley. He said after roping with first saddle he had to change it everytime to rope on his other horses. Though he rides the CorrecTOR pad the tree made him rope better and he could tell the difference how his horse worked. We built to his specs, we added this tree to our line up as the Traditional Betty and Hot Betty. It was derived from the original Ugly Betty tree with changes made in the fork itself.
